Join us for an introduction to the practice of mantra. We’ll learn how to use mantras to improve our peace of mind, compassion and wisdom. It connects us with the good qualities of the enlightened beings and helps us to realize our highest potential. Afterward, you will learn the traditional art of making and using a mala. A mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. For Buddhist practitioners, their mala is a very precious and meaningful object.

10am-11:30am Teaching on Mantra with Kelsang Pawo
1pm-3pm Mala making workshop
3:30-4pm Instruction on how to use Mala

About the teacher

Kelsang Shechog

Kelsang Shechog is a qualified Kadampa practitioner and teacher of Kadampa Buddhism. She has received extensive teachings of both Sutra and Tantra including the empowerments of Highest Yoga Tantra from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Shechog has studied on the Special Teacher Training Programme and engaged sincerely in meditation retreats on both Sutra and Tantra. She has dedicated her life to helping people solve their problems and find happiness through Buddha’s timeless instructions. Shechog has spent many years developing Kadampa Meditation Centres where she has inspired many people through her kindness and loving example and is much loved for her gentle manner, inner strength and clear, skillful teachings.
