Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong
General Spiritual Director
The Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU is Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, a Buddhist nun and senior disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Gen-la Dekyong has studied and practiced Kadampa Buddhism for many years under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Her responsibilities include giving Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments, granting precepts, and instructing Kadampa Teachers from around the world on the International Teacher Training Program.
As one of Venerable Geshe Kelsang’s close disciples, Gen-la Dekyong’s teachings, humour and kindness exemplify the essence of the Buddhist way of life. Gen-la is also the Resident Teacher at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, the Mother Center of Kadampa Buddhism, and regularly teaches at Festivals and Dharma Celebrations throughout the world.
Gen Kelsang Jampa
Deputy Spiritual Director
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is the Deputy Spiritual Director for the New Kadampa Tradition and Resident Teacher at KMC Texas. He travels frequently throughout the world visiting Centers and teaching at national and international festivals.
He is well-loved for his warmth and kindness and is known for inspiring and clear teachings. By his example, he shows us how to practically and joyfully integrate Buddha’s teachings into our daily lives. He is an inspiring example of modern Buddhism in practice.
Gen Kelsang Rabten
National Spiritual Director of New Zealand
Gen Kelsang Rabten is the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director for New Zealand and Australia and the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Hong Kong.
Gen Rabten is a pure disciple who has trained under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than twenty years. His deep faith and the sincerity of his practice are deeply entwined within his teachings, inspiring many people to embark on a meaningful and rich spiritual life.
