NZ Kadampa Festival 2020

Friday, 10 January until Monday, 13 January

Intercontinental Hotel, Wellington

At this year’s NZ Kiwi Festival we welcome Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab to grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Vajrasattva, the embodiment of enlightened purification. Gen-la Khyenrab will then explain how to purify negative karma – the real obstacle to a happy and meaningful life.

We spend almost all our time and energy trying to avoid problems and experience happiness by changing the world around us. However, our unhappiness and difficulties do not come from external things, they are the result of the negative actions, or negative ‘karma’, we have performed in the past. By receiving this purifying blessing and turning inwards for solutions and meaning we embark on a true path to happiness. The empowerment is a blissful guided meditation in which we make a personal connection with Guru Vajrasattva. Then, by engaging in the associated meditation practice, our negative karma is dissolved away and we can connect to the endless joy and natural purity that lies within.

Friday evening: Introduction
Saturday: Morning meditation followed by the empowerment of the Buddha Vajrasattva. In the afternoon commentary will be given by Gen-la Khyenrab

Monday: Morning teaching with Gen-la Khyenrab followed by two retreat sessions with Kelsang Shechog
